Coastal Challenge Off-Road Running Series

The BRAND NEW national Coastal Challenge Series by Total Sport is finally here! Run, walk, wade, scramble and rock-hop your way around New Zealand, and experience the spectacular and varied coastlines that our country has to offer!

With four locations in the Coastal Challenge Series; Wellington, Auckland – North Shore and Tawharanui, and multiple course distances, there’s definitely something for all ages, abilities, shapes, sizes, and levels of adventure!

• Beach Hopper – 6-7km Run/Walk
• Bay Scrambler – 11-13km Run/Walk
• Mini Monty – 17-21km Run/Walk
• Mid Monty – 22-26km Run
• Full Monty – 32-35km Run & Team Relay (for North Shore and Tawharanui Events only)

The varied coastlines of New Zealand's North Island will present some very challenging terrain and as such runners will require suitable trail running shoes. With this in mind we recommend the following Hoka One One models:

There’s tons of fitness articles and podcasts on the market explaining the benefits of cross-training; I am definitely one of those people that sing a variation of praises about it too. My name is Latoya Shauntay Snell — a multisport athlete, content creator and founder of food and fitness blog Running Fat Chef. I have been a Global Athlete Ambassador for HOKA since 2019. Since 2014 I’ve completed close to 200 running and obstacle course racing events, including 5 ultramarathons and around 25 marathons. An immense amount of credit goes towards incorporating cross training into my regimen.
