Growing up in the UK, as the youngest of four girls, Laura had a successful career starting as an Officer in the British Army, followed by working in business as a professional Chartered Mechanical Engineer, with a number of global multinationals. Having always been sporty, Laura represented England in Athletics and Netball before moving to Sydney, Australia in 2008 and finding Triathlon in 2009, a sport in which she began to thrive on.
Laura advanced through the Amateur ranks quickly winning four World Amateur Titles at Sprint (2011), 2 x Olympic (2012, 2013) and Half Ironman distance (2013).
Now as a Professional in 2017, Laura has won Ironman Australian, Challenge Roma753, Challenge Walchsee and has in 2017 accumulated more wins and podiums positions than any other professional triathlete. A truly global athlete, Laura trains and competes around the world and gets exposure in the USA, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
A role model, especially for women in sport and business, Laura is an ambassador for the Women’s Sports Trust and SisuGirls. Through her work with MORE Than Sport, she volunteers and fundraises to support local communities and projects around the world where she races and trains and is also a keen supporter of the Challenged Athlete Foundation (CAF).
A corporate and public speaker integrating her experience in elite sport, with her corporate and military background to deliver Peak Performance workshops and seminars to multinationals and organisations from all industry sectors. A growing identity among triathletes who almost universally refer to her as 'Sid' with a developing online community, as a regular contributor to witsup.com and through her own podcast segment Sid Talks, on Fitter Radio.
