Purchased these after about a month of research and going and trying a pair on in the standard width and finding they were too narrow. I have relatively normal width feet, and Hoka's are known for being narrow, so the wide fit works almost like a normal width from other shoes - which has been the approach I also took with the Speedgoat 4s with getting a wide in those which fit well too.
These are maximum comfort shoes, and you do feel like you're running on clouds in them with very little ground feel. The grip works for dry roads and light hard packed trails, but if it's been wet avoid any painted lines on the road as they'll still be slippery, but there's only a handful of shoes that can handle that and you're only really encountering those lines when you're crossing the road on tarmaced surfaces.
Overall, a great everyday trainer/easy run shoe, which I've found can also handle wanting to pick up to a moderate pace too.
